There is no phone step

Unlike some of its competitors, Spokeo does not verify removals by telephone. You submit the profile URL and an email address, click the link in the confirmation email, and the request completes. No call is placed to you and none is expected from you.

The comparison is worth drawing because it explains where the query comes from. Whitepages does use an automated verification call, so people who have opted out there reasonably assume Spokeo works the same way. It does not, and looking for a Spokeo number is time spent on a step that does not exist.

About those third-party support numbers

Search for a Spokeo phone number and you will find several, published by directory and complaint-aggregation sites. We checked, and they disagree with each other. At least four different numbers are in circulation across those pages, presented with equal confidence.

Some of those pages sit on domains built to intercept exactly this search. We are not going to reprint a number we cannot verify, because handing your name, address and phone number to an unverified party is the precise harm this site exists to help people avoid, and a privacy request is a uniquely bad thing to misdirect.

If you need to reach the company, take the contact route from spokeo.com itself, where a contact page and live chat are published. A number sourced from the company beats a number sourced from a page that ranks for the query.

If you meant removing your phone number

This is the other half of the query, and Google serves both readings for a reason. Spokeo listings are keyed to phone numbers as well as names, so a reverse phone lookup can return your name and address from a number alone.

Removal does not work field by field. There is no option to strip out a phone number and leave the rest, so the answer is to suppress the profile itself. A useful wrinkle: because listings are keyed separately to different identifiers, a search on your phone number may surface a profile that a search on your name did not. Search both, and opt out each listing you find.

If the removal has stalled

The confirmation email is the step that quietly fails, usually by landing in spam. Nothing is submitted until that link is clicked, so a request that appears to have gone nowhere has usually stopped there.

Beyond that, contact the company in writing rather than hunting for a phone line. A written request timestamps what you asked for, which a call does not, and it gives you something to attach to a complaint if it comes to that.

There is also a second route that is not the same thing as the opt-out, and it is worth knowing the difference. The Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the site footer is a request made under state privacy law rather than a courtesy suppression, and depending on where you live it carries statutory deadlines and a right to escalate to your state regulator when it is ignored. The opt-out form is faster; the legal request is the one with teeth behind it.

If you are in California, the state's DROP system is stronger still, because it reaches registered brokers collectively rather than one at a time. Brokers must begin processing DROP requests from 1 August 2026.
