These terms govern your use of redactzero.com ("RedactZero", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them.

1. What RedactZero is

RedactZero provides a free informational scan that checks publicly available sources - known data breaches, public profiles, and people-search sites - for exposure related to an email address or username you provide, along with educational guides for removing personal information from data brokers.

2. Acceptable use

Scan only identifiers that belong to you or that you are authorized to check. You may not use RedactZero to stalk, harass, investigate, or profile another person, or in violation of any law. We may block access (including by rate limits) to protect the service and the sources it queries.

3. Informational only, no guarantees

Scan results reflect what public sources report at the moment of the scan. They can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong: a clean result does not mean your data is not exposed somewhere, and a flagged result does not guarantee a specific site holds your data. Our opt-out guides describe processes controlled by third parties that change without notice. RedactZero is not a legal service and nothing on this site is legal advice.

4. Third-party services

We link to and recommend third-party data-removal services. Your relationship with those services is governed by their own terms. Some links are affiliate links, disclosed on our affiliate disclosure page. We are not responsible for third-party services, sites, or their results.

5. Intellectual property

The site's content, design, and code are owned by RedactZero or its licensors. You may link to and quote our guides with attribution; you may not republish them wholesale.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RedactZero is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.

7. Changes and termination

We may modify or discontinue the service, or update these terms, at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
