Opt-out guide
How to opt out of PeopleSmart and remove your name
PeopleSmart opt-outs are processed by BeenVerified. The one quirk worth knowing is a Blacklisted error some people hit on submission, which is a documented outcome rather than a sign you did something wrong.
PeopleSmart's opt-out requests are processed on BeenVerified's system, so one request can cover more than one site. Check both afterwards rather than assuming.
Wondering whether PeopleSmart is even legitimate first? Read our honest PeopleSmart check for what it is, what regulators have said about it, and what it exposes.

Good to know
- If you see a Blacklisted error on submission, it is a known response - contact customer care with the request rather than retrying repeatedly.
- BeenVerified handles this request, so the same suppression touches several sites in that family.
Removal clears the records held at the time. New public-record and directory batches can rebuild a listing later, so re-search your name every few months and repeat the request for anything new.
