Frequently asked questions
It depends on your settings. With privacy-first processing enabled (available on all plans, always on for Enterprise/Government), your files are processed entirely in memory and never written to disk. If you use Team or higher plans with audit logging enabled, we store metadata (timestamps, PII categories found, user ID) but never the original document content.
Privacy-first processing handles your documents in memory only. No file is saved to disk, no database record is created, and no audit trail is generated. When your session ends, there is no trace of the document on our infrastructure. This mode is available on all plans and is always on for Enterprise and Government Edition customers.
RedactZero runs on dedicated infrastructure with no external API calls. Your content is never sent to third-party AI providers. On hosted plans (Free through Business), processing happens on our servers. Enterprise and Government customers can deploy RedactZero on their own infrastructure for full data sovereignty.
Team is designed for collaborative redaction workflows — shared workspace, audit log, custom rules, and team management. Business adds operational capabilities: REST API access, webhook delivery, structured JSON output, batch processing, SSO, and governance controls. If you need to integrate sanitization into existing systems or pipelines, Business is the right tier.
